Security Awareness at LSU

LSU students, faculty and staff members should take security precautions and understand the potential consequences of online actions and behaviors as they enjoy the benefits of the Internet. ITSP has gathered a variety of tips and educational resources that can be leveraged to increase your IT security awareness. Please take advantage of the information below to better equip yourself to safely and effectively achieve your professional goals at LSU.

Want to Play a Game?

LSU Information Technology Services is hosting a campus-wide geocache game during the month of October to celebrate Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

What is geocaching? Geocaching can be described as a series of hide-and-seek games where hiders provide online clues for seekers. Seekers use global positioning system (GPS) devices to find hidden caches (like a treasure hunt!)

Check lsu.edu/securityawareness each week in October to test your knowledge of that week's topic. If you answer the questions correctly, you'll get coordinates to a general location on campus. Navigate to the location, search for that week's poster, scan the QR code, and enter your LSU email address. Participants who locate and scan all 5 weekly posters will be entered for a chance to win LSU swag.
