Biography

Chris Wells received a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Vanderbilt University in 2015. He joined the LSU Philosophy faculty in fall 2018.

Areas of Interest

Dr. Wells is interested in the intersection of ethics and politics in contemporary Continental philosophy, especially in Emmanuel Levinas. He primarily teaches Ethics and Introduction to Philosophy. He has also taught courses in applied ethics, including environmental, biomedical, and business ethics. Dr. Wells occasionally hosts film screenings for the LSU Ethics Institute. Since Fall of 2019, he has screened and moderated discussions in the campus community for the following documentaries: Student AthleteIvory Tower, and College Behind Bars.
