About GeauxGrants

GeauxGrants is the new electronic platform for grants management. GeauxGrants allows users to develop and route proposals, submit post-award modification requests, submit proposals directly to Grants.gov and NIH ASSIST, and review and approve awards and subawards. GeauxGrants also integrates with the existing Conflict of Interest module as well as the upcoming Human Subjects and Animal Subjects modules, which will deploy over the course of this year.

The GeauxGrants platform is for faculty and staff at LSU A&M (Baton Rouge), LSU AgCenter, and Pennington Biomedical Research Center only.

GeauxGrants for Human Subjects Research

Beginning July 1, 2020, the Human Subjects module of GeauxGrants will be where faculty can submit research protocols to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for human subject research. In addition, faculty can submit modifications, continuations, and adverse events to the IRB for their review. IRB members will also use GeauxGrants to review and evaluate research protocols and make recommendations as to the status of those protocols.

Faculty will be able to route protocols using the previous system until June 23, 2020

GeauxGrants for Sponsored Projects

On January 1, 2020, GeauxGrants replaced Sponsored Programs System (SPS) as the university’s pre-award system.  PLEASE NOTE: all proposals routed for a streamlined review in GeauxGrants must now be submitted at least seven (7) business days prior to the proposal submission deadline. This extended lead time is necessary for us to meet sponsor deadlines using a new and unfamiliar system, and will be reduced as users become more familiar with GeauxGrants. This includes the routing of budget, personnel, and any sponsor forms that contain budget information or requires an Authorized Organizational Representative signature. For Grants.gov submissions, other materials (e.g., narratives, technical documents) must be submitted no later than 24 hours before the sponsor deadline.

See IMPORTANT INFORMATION on critical dates, new deadlines and training.

Using GeauxGrants for PM-11

Effective June 3, 2019, all LSU A&M employees will use GeauxGrants to submit disclosures of outside employment (PM-11) and route them for administrative approvals. PM-11 applies to all LSU faculty and staff, including those who are on summer or intersession break for any activity for which they receive compensation, including travel supplements, stipends or honoraria. This also includes any visits to foreign universities that are supported, in whole or part, by the host institution.

Recent changes to PS-98 now require any researcher who either holds an active externally funded project or who is applying for an externally funded project, regardless of agency or source, to submit a disclosure of significant financial interests (SFI). Such disclosures are a critical part of the university's Conflict of Interest processes.
