Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Processes & Methods Lab (ME 3633)

This Laboratory is part of the Manufacturing Processes and Methods Course, ME 3633, required for all Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering undergraduate students.

The students are offered hands-on experiences with some of the primary manufacturing techniques used in industry, and gain a basic understanding and appreciation of associated capabilities, limitations and safety issues. These experiences are invaluable in making young engineers aware of what is possible and what is impractical in manufacturing. It provides them with a basic vocabulary so that they can effectively communicate with practitioners who will be turning their designs into reality. Finally, it helps students develop skill sets that will serve them well in the realization phase of their Design Capstone projects.
