Native American Journalists Association (NAJA) Convention 2009
Opening Reception Brings Generations Together
Even 25 years after Native Americans first established their presence in the journalism world, they continue to stress the importance of preparing the next generation of storytellers. NAJA President Ronnie Washines, who is in his second year as president, said though the organization has come a long way, members continue to encourage the youth to carry on its efforts. "I'm happy and glad that it's reached this point," said Washines. "I look forward to hopefully go another 25."
