2019 Parkinson's Conference
June 3, 2019
BATON ROUGE--Join us for a day of learning and networking for people with Parkinson's, caregivers, clinicians, researchers and others interested in combating the disease.
The eighth annual Parkinson’s Conference will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Pennington Biomedical's Conference Center.
This year's conference focuses on sharing successful strategies to improve quality of life for those with Parkinson’s disease.
Associate Professor of Neurology and Neurotherapeutics at UT Southwestern Medical Center Shilpa Chitnis, MD, PhD, delivers this year's keynote address. In addition, participants can view presentations, an exhibitor fair and interactive demonstrations including ballet and Zumba.
“We’re excited about this year's event," says Jan Hondzinski, PhD, a Parkinson's Conference committee member and LSU associate professor of kinesiology.
"We have presentations by several neurologists who specialize in Parkinson’s, an expert researcher in nutrition, and an advocate providing information about self-advocacy, nutrition, psychology, and do’s and don’ts for Parkinson’s disease,” Hondzinski says.
The event is free and open to the public.
