Jennifer Qian, PhD Receives One-Year NSF Grant

BATON ROUGE, LA - Jennifer Qian, PhD serves as editor of International Journal of Innovative Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and has received a one-year NSF grant. Dr. Jennifer Qian, coordinator of our online Educational Technology graduate program, has served as the Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Innovative Teaching and Learning in Higher Education since January 2021. This peer-reviewed academic journal aims to disseminate research and practice in innovating teaching and learning in higher education. It provides a global look at research findings, emerging pedagogies, and forward-thinking approaches to advance and transform teaching and learning in higher education. Dr. Qian’s research areas include academic innovation, digital transformation, and emerging technology and pedagogy.
Dr. Qian is also part of a research team that was awarded a one year National Science Foundation grant.
The National Science Foundation has awarded a $149,987 grant to Louisiana State University (10/1/2022 - 9/30/2023). Jennifer Qian will work as a co-principal investigator on the project, titled “FW-HTF-P: Fostering Transferable Skills for Future-Ready Extraterrestrial Construction Workforce via an Intelligent-Immersive Training Environment.” Her research will be focused on the synergy of computational thinking, fluid reasoning, and learning agility in fostering transferable skills.
