Graduate Certificate in Instructional Coaching

About the Certificate Program

The Instructional Coaching Certificate is designed to help practicing educators to develop leadership ability for use in the classroom or in expanded roles as:  lead teacher, instructional coach, team leader, curriculum developer, department chairperson, new teacher mentor, or special project leader.

The Instructional Coaching Certificate prepares education professionals to support and enhance teacher knowledge, skills, and dispositions leading to higher levels of student achievement.  This hybrid program will allow students to engage in face-to-face coursework or complete their coursework online.  Student will gain practical experience by integrating course content with field-based experiences.

Students will be required to take 12 credit hours of coursework and may be completed in 3-4 semesters. The Instructional Coaching Certificate program is designed to potentially flow into either the Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction or the Master’s in Educational Leadership. This certificate serves as an entry portal into graduate study.  After successful completion of the certificate program, students would be required to take the GRE if that requirement exists within a designated program.

The Instructional Coaching Certificate leads to both a Certificate from LSU as well as eligibility for a Louisiana Department of Education add-on endorsement in Instructional Coaching.
