TigerNet is Louisiana State University's Internet access service provided
through AT&T's Internet Connection Services. With TigerNet you can
use your modem to dial a local access number to connect to Internet
services such as World Wide Web and e-mail.

Multiple special priced plans for Internet access and e-mail.
TigerNet gives you a unique LSU perspective of the Information Superhighway.
The account is portable, with local access telephone
numbers throughout the US and the world. So, even if you travel or move
out of state, you can still access TigerNet without incurring long
distance charges.
Signing Up
LSU students, faculty and staff as well as LSU friends sign up for a Personal
TigerNet account during the installation of the TigerNet Internet
Access Kit. This Kit contains all the software and information required to
register for an account and to access the Internet and e-mail.
Departments may sponsor faculty and staff under our Corporate plan. Call
388-4654 for registration information for Sponsored Accounts.
LSU Alumni should call the toll free 1-888-865-1654 number with the LSU Alumni
Offer Code of 'LSUALUM' to identify yourself. IBM will mail you a free Internet
Access Kit. This Kit will contain all the software and information required to
register for an account and to access the Internet and e-mail.
Terms and Conditions
Students, Faculty and Staff may choose from the five plans listed below.
Alumni and friends may choose from additional plans also listed. Detailed
plans are listed on the LSU website, http://www.lsu.edu.

Service is month to month and users are free to move to a different plan after
the first month. Personal accounts are billed to a credit card.
Department sponsored accounts cost $19.95 per month for Unlimited service plus
a one time registration fee of $10.00. Sponsored accounts are billed to the
department.
If you are outside of a local calling area, you may access the
service through a $6.00 per hour 800#. Additional hourly and 800# access
charges are billed at 30 second increments.

PC Hardware Requirements
IBM compatible PC with 486 microprocessor or higher
3.5", 1.44 MB diskette drive and a mouse or compatible pointing device
8 MB RAM, 8 MB of free hard disk space
14.4 Kbps modem or greater. Supports up to 56 Kbps (U.S. Robotics x2 technology).
Macintosh Requirements
System 7.1, 7.1.1, 7.1.2, 7.5.3 or later
If using Open Transport, it must be Open Transport 1.1 or later
3.5", 1.44 MB diskette drive and a mouse or compatible pointing device
12 MB RAM or 16 MB virtual memory, 6 MB of free hard disk space
14.4 Kbps modem or greater. Supports up to 56 Kbps (U.S. Robotics x2 technology).
Software Requirements
A TigerNet Internet Access Kit is available for purchase at the LSU Union
Bookstore. This Access Kit contains diskettes with the software required
to access the IBM Global Network. It also contains a booklet of
installation and customization instructions. The cost of the TigerNet Internet
Access Kit is $3.50 (US dollars).
Internet Access Kits are available for Windows 3.x, Windows 95 and Macintosh
systems. Be sure you obtain the correct Kit for your computer.

the FAQ section of this web site for instructions for setting up the OS/2
Internet Dialer.
