LSU Closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday; Weekend Events Cancelled
Friday, August 27, 2021; 2:06 p.m.
Dear LSU Community,
Due to Hurricane Ida, LSU will be closed from Saturday, Aug. 28, through Monday, Aug. 30. All weekend events and activities on campus will be cancelled, all campus facilities will be closed, and all classes and activities scheduled for Monday—whether in-person or virtual—are cancelled.
LSU Online students in our 7-week 100% online programs should contact their Learner Concierge or faculty member for more information on how the closure may affect them. The Monday closure includes the University Laboratory School and the LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool.
We will make a decision on any further closures after the storm.
Our LSU residence halls and on-campus apartments will remain open and food will be available to on-campus residents. Please check https://dineoncampus.com/lsu/ for updates regarding dining operations. Students who live on campus should shelter in place during the storm by remaining indoors and keeping in contact with Residential Life staff for any instructions.
Essential employees should check with their supervisors regarding their schedules during the closure. Non-essential employees should not report to campus during the closure.
Please watch your LSU email account, www.lsu.edu, LSU’s official social media channels, and LSU emergency text messaging for any updates. If you have not signed up for emergency text messages, please do so at http://my.lsu.edu by clicking on “Personal Preferences” and “Emergency Contacts.”
