The liberal democrats
want as little as possible state internvention in the economy. We
prefer the market to control the economy as opposed to government
regulation in the economy. However, we do believe the government has
a some role to play when it comes to providing social security and
healthcare, and promoting social justice. However, the
government should not significantly endanger captialism to
achieve these goals. One of our most strongest prinicples are
preserving the basic freedoms of mankind such as freespeech,
individualism, and basic civil libertries. We would also like to see
the government spend more on education and protecting the
environment. We are moderatly strong advocaters of the environment.
We want to tax high polluters. We would like to see a greater
intergration into the EU with the euro as the eventual offical
currency, as this would help promote our view of captialism. We
prefer a more open government, where there is a system of checks and
balance of all branches throughout the government. We want to see
more decentralization in the government as well. We do not have a
religous agenda and we are neither for are against promoting religon
in politics.
