Total Hip Replacement

The Small Animal Surgical department at the LSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital is pleased to announce the availability of total hip replacement (hip arthroplasty) surgery for the treatment of advanced hip osteoarthritis in dogs.

Our team of orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Charles Walls, Dr. Alberto Gines, and Dr. Karanvir Aulakh, along with a team of highly skilled technical staff are now offering this procedure on a clinical basis. Drs. Walls, Gines and Aulakh bring over 30 years of combined experience performing total hip arthroplasty.

If you have a patient with advanced hip arthritis that has become refractory to medical management or a client who wants to discuss if a total hip replacement is an appropriate procedure for their pet, please contact the LSU Small Animal Surgery department at 225-578-9600 to set up an appointment with one of our orthopedic surgeons for evaluation. Dr. Walls, Dr. Gines, or Dr. Aulakh will be happy to speak with you regarding your patient.
