LSU Stephenson Pet Hospital
As the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine continues to lead veterinary care and veterinary education in Louisiana, significant enhancements are required to our original clinical facility. In addition to providing added space in support of all of our clinical programs, the new facility will allow incorporation of both emergency care and community practice.
The SVM incorporates the largest collection of specialty-trained veterinarians in Louisiana and most surrounding states, capable of delivering medical and surgical care at the highest level. Intrinsic to recent institutional accreditation guidelines, graduates of the SVM must be “practice ready” and this new facility will provide appropriate space for our students to engage in well animal and preventive care and to master everyday veterinary practice. Our graduates, already in high demand, will receive even greater recognition for their skills, knowledge and leadership.
We are in a campaign to raise funds to build this new facility to expand the area available for our pet wellness services and provide much needed space for all of our current clinical and academic programs and facilitate further development of our Community Practice to enhance student training in:
- client communication and education
- preventative medicine
- well animal management
- behavioral modification
- dental care
- routine surgical procedures
- integrative medicine
A generous donor has offered The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine a $2 million dollar matching gift as incentive to raise money to support the construction of this new facility. We hope you will join our efforts in making this exciting opportunity come alive.
