Our Speakers

Cherie Pucheu-Haston, DVM (LSU SVM 1992), PhD, DACVD

Associate Professor of Veterinary Dermatology

Dr. Pucheu-Haston is a veterinary dermatologist and a faculty member at LSU in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. Her veterinary degree (1992) and internship training (1993) were completed at LSU. She completed residency training in veterinary dermatology at North Carolina State University and achieved board certification in Veterinary Dermatology in 1995.  After working as a specialist in private practice for seven years, she earned a PhD in Immunology (minor Biotechnology) from NCSU in 2006. After serving as a postdoctoral research associate in the Immunotoxicology Branch of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Dr. Pucheu-Haston returned to LSU in 2011 as a faculty member.. 

Sara Joyner Ramos, DVM (LSU SVM 2015)

Dr. Ramos received her DVM from Louisiana State University in 2015. She completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at the University of Georgia in 2016. She completed her dermatology internship at LSU in 2017 and her dermatology resident at LSU in 2020.

Chi-Yen Wu, DVM

Dermatology Resident

Dr. Wu received his DVM from National Taiwan University (NTU) in 2015. He completed a small animal rotating internship at NTU in 2017. He completed his dermatology internship at LSU in 2020 and he is now a dermatology resident at LSU.

Andrew Lewin, DVM

Assistant Professor of Veterinary Ophthalmology

Dr. Lewin graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2010 as a veterinarian and has since worked in the UK, New York, Wisconsin and Louisiana. He is certified by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists.
