Job Description: Chief of Specialty - Emergency Veterinary Hospital - Springfield, OR (Competitive Sign-On Bonus & Partnership financial opportunities for entrepreneurially minded applicants)

Emergency Veterinary Hospital is looking to welcome a Full-Time Chief of Specialty (1.0 FTE) to our team and our rapidly growing hospital! The Emergency Veterinary Hospital is expanding and will include 3,000 square feet for specialty. The Chief of Specialty will have the opportunity to build the hospital of their dreams. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, as well as the desire and willingness to help develop the hospital, its team, and client and referral base, in conjunction with the Medical Director, Hospital Administrator, and the rest of the Lakefield family. The Chief of Specialty will be someone who cares as much for their team and the institution that they will help build as the patients under their care.

    Our Hospital and Benefits:

In 1978 the Emergency Veterinary Hospital saw its first emergency case.  In 1996, we opened our current hospital and in 2006 we began seeing patients 24 hours a day.  And now, in 2022, we are entering a new era with a brand-new hospital, new services, and a bright future ahead of us. We are working to build a specialty extension to our new facility and are looking for a specialist of your caliber and vision to partner with us in this endeavor.

The Emergency Veterinary Hospital is a family-oriented practice that works hard to build a culture of collaboration and wellness.  Our goal is to enable all of our doctors and support staff to practice in an environment that fosters quality of life, professional development, and excellent care.  We have been AAHA accredited since 2008 and our commitment to these standards enable our associates to practice the best quality of medicine they know how. Our hospital boasts a robust mentoring program to guide associates with less experience in the ER field.

We offer a fully-equipped diagnostic laboratory, cutting-edge surgical facilities, digital radiography, and ultrasound. We have a CT prepared to bring into our new facility and the door is open for much more!  In addition to our current ER offerings, our boarded dental specialist provides advanced dentistry services to the community.

For additional info about Emergency Veterinary Hospital, please visit our website.

    Our Team:

With our expansion, we hope to bring many additional emergency veterinarians and specialists into our family. You will be working closely with our team including our Medical Director, Dr. Max Rinaldi, and our Hospital Administrator, Megan McGrew. Dr. Rinaldi, was raised in Nevada and received his DVM from Kansas State University, graduating in 2012. Dr. Rinaldi then spent a year in a rotating Internal Medicine and Surgery Internship at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, followed by a year internship in Exotic Animal Medicine and Surgery at Louisiana State University. Dr. Rinaldi's professional interests include emergency and critical care, emergency surgery, and exotic animal medicine. He is a member of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and the American Veterinary Medical Association.  When not engaged in veterinary medicine, he enjoys spending time with his young family as well as electromechanical systems, robotics, and woodworking.

    Our Values:

The way we approach our work matters. Our core values - do the right thing, fun, wow service, respect, and learning-guide everything we do at Emergency Veterinary Hospital.

    Community Impact:

Our commitment to pets extends beyond our hospital walls. Our Team Members can give back to communities around the globe through our partnership with World Vets. Each year, we send a group of doctors and support staff abroad to help pets in need and support programs that nurture healthy relationships between people and animals.
