From a young age my family spent as much time as possible outdoors so being outside has always been where I feel most “at home."

When I began rock climbing and skiing in college I felt a new sense of self-confidence that I had never felt before, so much so that I made the decision to change majors and find a way to make doing what I love a career.

I am passionate about creating an inclusive and accessible space where everyone can embrace the challenge of learning a new skill, make new friends over a campfire, or feel the joy of being connected to their natural environment.

Local adventures

I love kayaking and canoeing and Baton Rouge has great waterways for paddling. Two of my favorites are the LSU Lakes and Bayou Fountain. Bayou Fountain is a fun waterway to explore because it’s a beautiful green space that runs through the city.

Travel bug

My grandmother was a travel agent, every summer growing up she planned a two-week trip for just her grandkids. We traveled a good portion of the United States, Canada and Mexico. I believe this has directly influenced what I do now, and why I love to travel.

Favorite campus spot

My favorite spot on campus is the LSU Campus Mounds! The recent research on the mounds has found that they may be the oldest known man-made structures in the Americas. It’s incredible to have these ancient indigenous structures preserved here on campus.
