2019 United Way Campaign
LSU’s annual United Way campaign is now underway –Where There’s A Need, There’s a Way!
The challenges our community face are complex and no single organization can address them alone. At Capital Area United Way (www.cauw.org), we work with community partners to invest in programs and services that will enable the ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained, Employed) individuals and families to achieve a financially stable future that will set them up for success.
Meet a family who are considered ALICE. They are working, yet not earning enough and are one emergency from falling into poverty. With the support of United Way programs, they were able to find achieve financial stability and provide for their family.
Capital Area United Way serves the 10-parish area through 41 funded programs and several initiatives including United Way 2-1-1 resource line. United Way 2-1-1 is a free and confidential service that helps people find the local resources they need, including mental health care/counseling, food and shelter, employment services, disaster assistance and more. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
This year, LSU has a goal of contributing $75,000 or more to the Capital Area United Way – which will go toward the common good of our friends, family, and neighbors in this community. You can give through payroll deduction or a one-time gift through your Workday account to help us reach this goal.
United We Fight. United We Win.
