2022 United Way Campaign

LSU’s annual United Way campaign is now underway!

Our Capital Area is at its best when individuals and organizations Show Up United for the people in our community who are struggling. At Capital Area United Way (www.cauw.org), we work with community partners to invest in programs and services that prioritize community members that we call ALICE (asset limited, income constrained, yet employed).  These programs and services are designed to support ALICE in achieving a financially stable future that sets them up for success.

Capital Area United Way is committed to showing up for ALICE and for our community.  Check out the CAUW video to learn more about the impact of COVID-19 and what Capital Area United Way is doing to help ALICE and our community.

Capital Area United Way serves the 10-Parish area through 41 funded programs and several initiatives, including the United Way 211/CAUW resource line.  United Way 211/CAUW is a free and confidential service that helps people find the local resources they need, including mental health care/counseling, food and shelter, employment services, disaster assistance and more.  This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In addition, Capital Area United Way started United We Feed, during the pandemic, to combat food insecurity by providing fresh produce to our ALICE population. These distributions took place throughout the Capital Area’s 10-Parish service area, and with support from donors like you, this program can continue to be successful.

This year, LSU has a goal of contributing $75,000 or more to the Capital Area United Way – which will go toward helping our friends, family, and neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet.  Every contribution, small and large, makes a difference and allows us stand United behind our community to make a big impact. Download instructions to set up or revise your contribution amount. We will tally our collective contributions thought January 14.
