Louisiana Moves to Phase 3
September 10, 2020; 4:15 p.m.
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
Gov. John Bel Edwards announced today that Louisiana will move into Phase 3 of its reopening plan on Friday, September 11. We wanted to assure you that LSU’s campus operations will remain largely unchanged. We are following our Roadmap to Fall document, and the policies and procedures outlined in it will be in place for the entire fall semester. Should any minor changes occur, we will update the campus community.
As the Governor stated, moving to Phase 3 is not a removal of restrictions. At LSU, face masks will still be required in all public spaces, everyone must still fill out the TIGER Check daily symptom checker, and there are no plans to change the mode of instruction for courses.
To keep the LSU community as safe and healthy as possible, we continue to urge everyone on campus to get tested for COVID-19. In addition to the existing testing sites, there is a new site located on the south side of the UREC, near the sorority houses. Even if you do not have symptoms, please get tested as you could be asymptomatic and unknowingly spreading the virus to others. If you don’t have symptoms, you DO NOT have to quarantine while you await your test results.
Please continue to wash your hands, cover coughs and sneezes, and avoid large groups and social gatherings. Thank you, Tigers, for doing your part to help keep the rest of our community healthy.
