LSU Presidential Search Initial Listening Sessions

Dear LSU Family and Friends:

As we embark upon one of the biggest tasks as a Board of Supervisors, we would like to make you aware of some of initial steps occurring in the search process for the next President of LSU.

To begin, the Board of Supervisors engaged the executive search services of Atlanta based Parker Executive Search. Working specifically on our behalf will be the President, Laurie Wilder and the Vice President of Higher Education, Porsha Williams.

As an initial part of the process, we’d like to engage the campus community in a number of ways to ensure your input in the process and specifically the qualities you are looking for in the next President: 

1. Provide Feedback to the Presidential Search Committee: Please see the anonymous survey link below. Information will be sent directly to the Committee for consideration in the writing of the position description as well as the assessment and evaluation of candidates. Initial Feedback will be reviewed beginning December 11, 2020 and will continue throughout the process.
2. Provide Feedback for Virtual Campus Listening Sessions: On behalf of myself and co-chair Dr. Gabriela González, we’d like to extend an invitation to you to participate in the following Virtual Campus Listening Sessions (webinar style). This will allow you an official introduction to our search consultants as well as allow you to provide feedback to key questions that will help create our narrative of the position and opportunity.

3. Provide Recommendations of Appropriate Candidates: While the position description has not yet been finalized, we’d appreciate any thoughts you may have on appropriate candidates for our position. We strongly encourage you to participate in the recommendation/nomination process that will continue until early 2021.
