With the transition of re-branding general education to the LSU Integrative Learning Core (ILC), the Faculty Senate Committee Integrative Learning Core Committee will not be accepting any new applications for new general education course listings or renewing any current general education courses. All current and newly proposed general education courses will need to:
- include integrative learning pedagogies and assignment(s);
- identify the course's primary ILC proficiency;
- acknowledge an understanding that the integrative learning and the proficiency skills will be assessed; and
- apply or re-apply to the new LSU ILC using the revised ILC Course Proposal Form.
Any current general education courses that are not approved as an ILC course by December 2021 will no longer be considered a general education or ILC course. The transition will occur in phases, giving the flexibility for current or new courses to rethink how their courses can align to the new ILC. Applications will be accepted each semester for review by the committee. The ILC curriculum will be fully implemented by August 2022.
