Daphne Hartzheim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Louisiana State University and the director of the Autism and AAC Lab established in the Spring of 2016. Her research interest lies in finding evidence-based interdisciplinary treatment approaches for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by combining principles of language development and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). She is further invested in developing training protocols for practitioners working with children with ASD. Besides the clinical application, she is also investigating neurological activation patterns of children with ASD utilizing functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) technology.
