Research Interests

Geoffrey Coalson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at LSU, and the director of the LSU Stuttering Lab established in Spring 2014. His research focus is the contribution of phonological, phonetic, and linguistic factors to stuttering in children and adults. Current projects include differences in working memory skills and behavioral inhibition in adults who do and do not stutter. Dr. Coalson also teaches introductory and intensive courses in Fluency Disorders at LSU, and serves as chapter leader of the National Stuttering Association in Baton Rouge .
