The assignment for LSU 1001 asks you to create a website about your hometown.
For this example of a website, I am using Grand Isle because:
- I want to leave the westbank of New Orleans to the students from there.
- I don't have many cool photos of my actual hometown, and
- I really like Grand Isle
My father has always loved visiting Grand Isle, and after we bought a trailer to use as a camp, we spent large parts of every summer on the island. Now that he has retired, he spends much of his time at my grandfather's camp on the island. I bring my kids down as often as I can- they really have a blast there. This site will give you an idea of the flavor of the place. Either you will want to visit as well, or you will just conclude that I must be a bit crazy.
In a testimony to the importance of this large sandbar of some 1,500 inhabitants- or to the truly "encyclopedic" nature of Wikipedia, there is even a
Wikipedia entry for Grand Isle!
