Louisiana State University and A&M College (LSU), as a land, sea, and space-grant institution, built on lands of Indigenous people acknowledges, honor, and affirm Indigenous culture, history, and experiences.
At the heart of LSU’s campus are two earthen mounds – LSU Indian Mounds – architectural
remnants created by Native Americans. By preserving these mounds, LSU pays respect to the past, and recognizes the First Peoples. As a University, we thank them for their strength and resilience as stewards of this land and are committed to creating and maintaining a living and learning environment that embraces
individual difference, including the Indigenous peoples of our region
