Phase 3 Expected to Begin June 29

Dear Faculty and Staff,

In anticipation of the Governor further easing restrictions at his June 26 press conference, we are expecting to begin Phase 3 of our return to campus on Monday, June 29. Please know that this plan is subject to change if the situation with COVID-19 changes. As many of you know, some states are currently experiencing an increase in cases of the virus, so we will continue to carefully monitor the situation and keep you apprised.

Employees who should return to campus as part of Phase 3 will be notified; all others should continue to work remotely. The Phase 3 plan is intended to give you an idea of what the next phase of reopening will look like, and should help supervisors think about who from their units should be included in Phase 3.

Those who will be returning to campus must maintain proper hygiene and physical distancing, including following hand-washing protocols and wearing a face covering in situations where it’s not possible to maintain physical distancing of at least 6 feet. If you are sick, please stay home. If you find out that you have been exposed to COVID-19 within the past 14 days, you must stay home and notify the EOC of your exposure at reportcovid@lsu.edu

The Phase 3 plan is available at lsu.edu/coronavirus/docs/lsu-return-to-campus-phase-3.pdf. More information on the fourth and final phase will be available soon.

We want to take a moment to thank all of you again for your cooperation during these past few months. We know that many of you are ready to get back to campus, and we appreciate that you have been patient as we return slowly through this phased approach. Your safety has been our top priority through all of this, and we are grateful for all of you who have been so dedicated to your jobs and continue to make LSU the wonderful place it is.
