Delta Rouge in conjunction with the LSU School of Theatre and the LSU Student Government will be hosting the Take 8 Film Festival to be held at the Shaver Theatre in the LSU’s Music and Dramatic Arts Building (MDA) at 7:00pm on Saturday, May 7, 2022. To enter a film into the festival submit this form.

Delta Rouge is the student film committee of the LSU School of Theatre and manages the Take Film Festival to promote and celebrate the films of all undergraduate/graduate students and alumni from LSU, and students from universities all over Louisiana. The only eligibility requirement for submission is that you are or were a student from any Louisiana university and have completed the film submitted in 2021 or 2022 that is between 30 seconds and 15 minutes in length. 

Following the screenings, guest industry professionals will select award winners for best Directing, Cinematography, Actor, Editor, Production Design, Writing, and Picture, as well as an overall Audience award winner and Best Alumni Film. These last two will be voted by the audience live. The awards will be presented that night.

To be considered for the Festival, please complete the online application below and include a link to a Vimeo and YouTube where your project can be viewed and downloaded. Remember to include the password if the site is password protected. Upon completion of your submission form, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. 

Festival submissions open on Monday, March 14th, and the deadline is Friday, April 22th.  All submissions should be made by completing the Online Submission Form. Prior to completing this form, please review the complete Submission Guidelines which include important information on entry fee, deadlines and format specifications. 

If you are selected for the Festival, you will be notified by April 26th. You will then be required provide a festival ready copy of your film and a digital poster for promotional purposes. These will be due no later than April 30th, 2022.

All participants will be invited to a meet and greet with industry professionals Friday night May 6th.
