At the School of Leadership and Human Resource Development, we want to provide our undergraduates with the best opportunities available while providing you with high quality, entry-level interns and employees. In an effort to develop our students into successful professionals, we require them to gain real-world experience in the HR field.
We all know the importance of networking in the Human Resources profession, and we want to provide those opportunities to our students who will soon enter the HR field. We also know that experience counts just as much as the degree and it’s our mission to assist our students in getting those valuable internship experiences.
As part of the E. F. Holton Internship Program, housed within the school, the biannual Internship Networking Event pairs LHRD students and employers; providing both the opportunity to interact face-to-face and establish professional connections in a relaxed environment.

The LSU School of Leadership and Human Resource Development curriculum is designed to prepare students for careers in leadership development, performance analysis, workforce development, staff training, change management, human resources, and human resource development consulting.
In an effort to develop our students into successful professionals, we have designed
our program to require students to gain real-world
experience in the human resources field. Therefore, students must acquire and complete an internship during their graduating semester of their senior year at LSU.
We are continuously developing new partnerships with local companies to connect our students with. We want to provide the best opportunities available and offer employers high-quality, entry-level interns and employees.
As seniors in our Leadership & Human Resources Development program, our students have been trained in the areas of organizational development, performance analysis, change management, and the development of human capital.
In this partnership, we provide employers with a graduating senior as an intern in the spring, summer, or fall.
The LSU School of Leadership & Human Resource Development (SLHRD) offers programs dedicated to producing world-class practitioners, leaders, and instructors in human resource and leadership development. The BS, MS, PhD, and certificate programs are designed to develop the leadership, planning, analytical, problem solving, and change management capabilities that today's globalized organizations need to be successful.
Additionally, SLHRD also offers two master’s programs and a certificate program, of which are 100% online. The School is housed within the College of Human Sciences & Education.
Dr. Elwood F. "Ed" Holton III served as the director of the newly founded School of Human Resource Education and Workforce Development (now the School of Leadership and Human Resource Development) from 2014 - 2015. Dr. Holton is a member of the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame, former President of the Academy of Human Resource development and was the founding editor of Human Resource Development Review. He has led efforts to create the world-renowned Learning Transfer System Inventory over the last 17 years. With over 200 articles and 17 books, he is widely considered to be an international expert on human resource development, adult education and particularly learning transfer. He received his Ed.D. in Adult Education and Human Resource Development, an MBA, and a B.S. in Management & Finance, all from Virginia Tech.
