The working environment is evolving. Organizations of all types are increasingly challenged to respond and adapt to changes in social values, technical innovations, and global business needs.

Our BS, MS, PhD and certificate programs are designed to develop the leadership, planning, analytical, problem solving, and change management capabilities that today's globalized organizations need to be successful. The knowledge and skills graduates acquire are highly transferable and can be applied in a wide range of positions and settings. For example, our graduates are employed as organization development specialists, chief learning officers, human resource directors, international consultants, training directors, and others. They work in a wide range of local, state, national and international organizations including for-profit Fortune 500 companies, state and national governmental organizations, non-profit community organizations, and civil society organizations.

Learn how to make the people, the human capital in organizations, more agile, prepare the workforce for change, connect and reenergize people with their work, and recraft jobs and increase workforce flexibility.

Our program encompasses the development and application of web-based and e-learning technologies, instructional design theories and systems, learning experience design principles, and leadership, team, and change management skills.

Minor - Leadership Development

As one of the largest minors at LSU, the Leadership Development minor instills in our students, not only the science of effective leadership, but also provides the opportunity to apply those skills in our capstone internship course. The minor is available to any undergraduate student at LSU.

The concentration will help students expand their knowledge as workforce development professionals equipped for leadership roles in a wide range of fields.

PhD - Leadership and Human Resource Development (on campus)

The goal of the PhD program is to develop highly skilled and innovative researchers and scholar-practitioners. The program prepares students for a wide range of careers ranging from academicians at leading educational institutions, professional consultants, human resource and organization development leaders, and other careers in which advanced research, analytical, and organization change capabilities are required.

Certificate - Workforce Development (online)

Graduates will develop the skills necessary to approach workforce development strategically, analyze skill and competency needs in the workforce, and implement workforce development processes that enable organizations to develop employees in ways that meet the current and future challenges.
