The LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool provides high quality early childhood programming for children six weeks old through age four.

An application form must be completed and submitted along with the $75.00 application fee in order to apply for enrollment. Applications are accepted throughout the year and may be obtained at the link below or on-site.

Once the application and application fee are received, children are placed onto the waiting list. When a space becomes available at the LSU ECE Lab Preschool, the waiting list will be searched, beginning at the top, for the following criteria:

  1. Age-appropriate, eligible child
  2. Date of desired enrollment as indicated on the application form
  3. Enrollment priority
  4. Application date

Enrollment priority is determined by the following in the order presented:

  1. Siblings of children currently enrolled at the LSU ECE Lab Preschool.
  2. Children of full-time staff, faculty and currently enrolled students at LSU.
  3. Children of individuals with secondary affiliations to LSU.
    1. i.e. children of part-time LSU students, staff or faculty; children of LSU alumni; grandchildren of LSU students, staff, or faculty; children of individuals working for the LSU System
  4. Children from the surrounding community.

LSU faculty and staff are given priority admission to the preschool. Financial assistance is provided for full-time LSU students who qualify. If you have further questions, then you may contact us at applyECELP@lsu.edu.

Please note there is no affiliation between the ECE Lab Preschool and any other school.

 


 

2018-2019 Tuition & Fees Schedule

Application Fee

The Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool charges a non-refundable, one-time application fee of $75 per application to apply for initial enrollment in the ECELP. Continuously enrolled students do not have to pay an additional application fee each school year.

1 The non-refundable annual Registration Fee must accompany the letter of intent to enroll during the annual registration process. The non-refundable annual Material/Technology and Building Fee may be paid before the start of the school year or may be paid in monthly installments of $35 each month along with the monthly tuition payment.

2 The ECELP currently offers three tuition tiers based on age-level and class size: Infant, Toddler, and Preschool. Beginning in 2018-19, two additional tiers have been established (Young Toddler and Young Preschool), which will better align the instruction for the younger age-levels and provide appropriate adult-to-child ratios considered model/best-practice in early childhood education.

3Full-time LSU faculty and staff are those employed by the main campus in Baton Rouge at an effort of 75% or greater.

Tours

Tours are conducted Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. To schedule a tour, please click here. Please note, tours must be scheduled at least a week in advance. Tours scheduled for the same week will not be honored.


 

Child Care Assistance Program 

To support all families in accessing high quality child care, the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) provides financial assistance to low-income families while they are working or attending school.
