About Advocacy & Outreach

Advocacy, outreach, engagement and service are all innately linked to the mission of the LSU College of Human Sciences & Education.

For faculty and staff, outreach rooted in scholarship exemplifies our commitment to civic engagement and enhances teaching, research, and service while addressing larger societal issues. For students, community outreach and service opportunities link campus teaching and learning to civic responsibility and LSU's Commitment to Community. For communities, partnering with the College increases their capacity to address important social, economic and cultural issues.

We are proud to connect the expertise of our faculty, leadership of our staff, and commitment of our students in a variety of ways within our community, across Louisiana and beyond. Whether through advocacy research projects or service-learning, the reciprocal nature of outreach enriches both our academic mission and the communities we serve.
