Revibe wins 2019 Venture Challenge

The ninth Annual Venture Challenge business plan/pitch competition was held April 23, 2019, and was open to all LSU students with existing businesses or business ideas. Three student entrepreneur teams pitched their business ideas in the final round for a share of $25,000 in startup cash.

The three finalists are:

  • 1st place -  Revibe
  • 2nd place -  Suds
  • 3rd place -  TampeRX

Revibe, a music streaming and sharing application, was awarded $12,000.

Suds, an application based wash/fold and dry cleaning service, was awarded $8,000.

TampeRX, a proprietary medical device designed to solve multiple problems relating to secure medication procurement and dispensing, was awarded $5,000.

Do you have a big idea?

The tenth annual Venture Challenge business plan/pitch competition will be open to all LSU students with existing businesses or business ideas. Three student entrepreneurs will be selected to pitch in the final round for their share of $25,000 in startup cash! A completed business plan is the only requirement for participation; this is a very valuable opportunity for LSU student entrepreneurs!  

How to Get Involved

Once the 2020 challenge is announced, email Kenny Anderson to set up an initial meeting, no business idea is off limits! We are here to help; our team is full of business plan experts. If you are interested in participating, please reach out so we can start the business plan writing process. This opportunity is a chance for free startup cash, the earlier you get going, the better.

First Round: Submit Your Business Plan

Business plans must be submitted via email to Kenny Anderson.

Final Round: Live Pitch

The three finalists give a 10-minute investor pitch to both the panel of judges and a live audience. Each pitch will be followed by a 10-minute question and answer session with the panel of judges made up of local business professionals and investors. The LSU Innovation Park also assists in the pitch formation; finalists will be well prepared before the pitch.

Startup Cash Awarded: Three Businesses Receive their Share of $25,000 prize

The judges determine how to divide $25,000 among the three winners based on their pitches. The maximum amount per team is $15,000 and the minimum is $1,000, finalists are guaranteed cash.
