Patil Chosen as 2019-2020 Recipient of the Daryl McKee Doctoral Student Award

BATON ROUGE – Ripinka Patil, a second-year LSU marketing PhD student is the 2020 recipient of the Daryl McKee Doctoral Student Award. She graduated from NIFT in Mumbai, India in 2013 with a Bachelor of Design and then earned her M.S. in Business-Marketing from the University of Cincinnati in 2016.

“The PhD students selected Ripinka Patil as the 2019-2020 recipient of the Daryl McKee Memorial PhD Award. She will receive a $500 check, a plaque, and her name will be added to the Daryl McKee Memorial Plaque in recognition of her achievements. Please join me in congratulating Ripinka for her excellence in areas including collegiality, mentoring, and program stewardship,” said Dan Rice, director of the Graduate Studies PhD Program.

The Daryl McKee Doctoral Student Award was created in honor of departed LSU Marketing professor Daryl McKee, a longtime LSU marketing professor and an essential contributor to the PhD program. He died in 2007 after a six-year battle with cancer. After his death, faculty members and PhD students donated money to establish the scholarship bearing his name and it is awarded each year to an outstanding marketing doctoral student.
