Highway Safety Research Group Hosts Traffic Records User Conference

BATON ROUGE - The Traffic Records User Conference is a one-day conference held Tuesday, July 30, at the LSU Business Education Complex. Conference presentations focus on law enforcement and other traffic records, data users and stakeholders. Many sessions concentrate on data use and visualizations to offer relatable examples of data-driven decision making for safety improvements.

BATON ROUGE – Cory Hutchinson, an associate professor for research in the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business and director of the Highway Safety Research Group (HSRG), was one of six experts invited to present a lightning talk during the recent U.S. Department of Transportation Safety Data Forum.

Traffic Records User Conference Held at E. J. Ourso College of Business

BATON ROUGE – Law enforcement officers, representatives from state agencies and safety stakeholders were in attendance at the Traffic Records User Conference held on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017 at the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business Education Complex. The conference was sponsored by the Louisiana Traffic Records Coordinating Committee (TRCC) which includes the Highway Safety Research Group (HSRG), a division of the E. J. Ourso College of Business.

HSRG Releases 2013 Louisiana Traffic Records Data Report

BATON ROUGE - The Highway Safety Research Group at the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business has released the 2013 Louisiana Traffic Records Data Report. According to Helmut Schneider, head of the group and chair of the E. J. Ourso College’s Information Systems & Decision Sciences Department, early submission of traffic crash statistics this year is due to the cooperation of more than 190 police agencies in Louisiana and their use of the LACRASH software.

HSRG Releases 2012 Louisiana Traffic Records Data Report

BATON ROUGE – The Highway Safety Research Group at the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business has released the 2012 Louisiana Traffic Records Report. This year’s report shows a decrease in driver deaths, but the total highway fatality rate increased mostly due to more deaths involving pedestrians and bicycle riders.
