Agriculture Mentoring Program | LSU College of Agriculture

Agriculture Mentoring Program

LSU College of Agriculture is excited to announce the fourth year of our Agriculture Mentoring Program. The purpose of this program is to provide current students with networking opportunities to help develop professional career goals.

  • The Agriculture Mentoring Program is held in two, semester-long Mentoring Program cycles, Fall (late-August to early-December) and Spring (mid-January to early-May).
    • Mentors are recruited throughout the year, and have the option to participate in one semester of their choice, or both semesters. If participating in both the Fall and Spring semesters, Mentors will be assigned a new mentee at the start of the second semester.
  • Mentors will be paired with an Undergraduate Student Mentee in August.
    • Mentors and mentees will be provided with a student or mentor profile, and the official Meet and Greet will take place in late-August/early-September.
  • As part of the program, student mentees will be enrolled in a 1-hour Career Exploration and Professional Development course.
  • A complete list of events (in-person or virtual) will be provided before the fall and spring semester starts so mentors can plan accordingly.

  • Respond to your mentor in a timely manner.
  • Establish S.M.A.R.T. goals for the year with the help of your mentor.
