Animal Sciences

Animal Products Processing

This concentration prepares students for careers in the food industry by offering courses in meat science, dairy products, and poultry products as well as food safety and quality assurance in the various food industries. Career opportunities may include quality assurance supervisors, inspectors, and product development specialists as well as opportunities with various state and federal agencies including the Cooperative Extension Service.

Career Possibilities: Livestock production, animal scientist, research (genetics, animal breeding, animal behavior, animal product and process management), 4-H youth development, feed and pharmaceutical sales, meat and dairy product inspection, poultry scientist, graduate or professional school, veterinarian (with additional education).
