Brotherhood & Sisterhood

Students find a sense of acceptance and belonging through friendships with members who share similar goals, values, and ideals. Brothers and sisters will be there to share the college experience and will stay close for years to come.

Community

Members have the opportunity to live with other members in their chapter on Greek Row or together off-campus. Members also build community over shared meals at their fraternity or sorority house in place of the meal plan requirement for students living on campus. If a chapter requires new members to eat meals at the house, that will be communicated during the recruitment process.

Leadership

Whether you enter college as a leader from high school or you want to get more leadership experience in college, Greek Life has so many options to gain experience and grow your leadership skills. Leadership is a value in every fraternity and sorority. You can take on leadership positions when you join, get involved in the Greek Life community in council leadership roles, and members are always involved in outside clubs and organizations, in fact, it is encouraged!

Scholarship

Students come to college to learn and find success in their careers and communities– Greek-lettered organizations provide an environment to reach those goals. Many chapters assist new members in developing good study habits and time management skills, making the adjustment to college easier. Fraternity and sorority members are represented in various academic honor societies on campus, value academic success, and support each other in earning their degrees.

Philanthropy

Each year, the Greek community raises over $1 million dollars and participates in over 100,000 community service hours. Chapters host annual philanthropy and service events that benefit local and national causes. LSU fraternity and sorority members have built 38 homes for the Baton Rouge community through a decade of participation in the Greek Week Habitat Build.
