The current academic year tuition and fee rates can be found on the Budget & Planning website in the Tuition & Fees section.
Note: The LSU Board of Supervisors may modify tuition and/or fees at any time without advance notice.
Financial Aid
Graduate students typically pay for their education through a combination of loans, scholarships, grants, fellowships, and employment through their institution. Students are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and get help with calculating cost of attendance. The LSU Financial Aid & Scholarships office assists with understanding the kind of aid available.
The Pinkie Gordon Lane Graduate School has adopted a policy that requires all graduate students on National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding, and encourages all graduate students, to discuss an Individual Developmental Plan (IDP) with their faculty mentors on an annual basis.
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) offers advice and support in the acquisition and administration of external funding, grant writing reference materials, and sample proposals.
The Initiative for Maximizing Student Development Program offers funding, research, and professional development opportunities for doctoral candidates in the natural, physical, or behavioral sciences working on biomedical research.

Funding for International Students
Typically, international students do not qualify for U.S. financial aid such as Pell Grants, Stafford Loans, etc. Most international students may work up to 20 hours per week on campus. If you are awarded a graduate assistantship and English is not your first language, you will be required to certify your oral proficiency in English before assuming your assistantship duties.
Visit the International Services website to learn more about financial aid options for international students.
