A valid LSU ID card is required to check out library materials. ID cards are nontransferable. Each individual issued an ID card is responsible for all library materials borrowed on his/her card. Reserve materials, audio visual materials, and journals are restricted to loans for School of Veterinary Medicine affiliates only.
Journals = 7 days
Books = 14 days
Reserve Materials = 2 hours
Books may be renewed one time only for a maximum loan period of 4 weeks. Renewals may be done in person at the library's Circulation Desk, by calling the Circulation Desk at (225) 578-9800, or online by clicking here.
Reserve materials, audio visual materials, and journals cannot be renewed.
Library materials may be returned directly to the Veterinary Medicine Library, to the book dropbox located outside the main entrance of the SVM building, or to any of the LSU campus libraries.
Borrowers will be charged for overdue materials at the following rates:
Books: 35¢ per day
Journals: 75¢ per day
Videos: 75¢ per day
Reserves: $1.20 per hour
Penalties may include fines, fees, and replacement costs.
A scanner is available at the front desk and is free of charge.
Faxes may be sent Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM. Charges for sending faxes and cover sheets (cash or check only) are as follows:
On-campus: no charge
Local and toll-free: $1.00 total
Long distance: $1.00 per page
International: $1.00 per page
Printing is available for $0.07 per page for black and white copies, $0.28 per page for color copies. Students must pay using Tiger Card only. Visitors may print upon request using cash or check only.
