Faculty Awards

The Office of Research & Economic Development and the Council on Research recognize excellence in research through several key faculty awards: the Rainmaker Award, the Distinguished Research Master Award, and the Presidential Award for Discovery.

Rainmaker Award

The Rainmaker Award recognizes research excellence by early career, mid-career and senior faculty across all disciplines at the university. Nominations are accepted from faculty, departments and colleges and reviewed by the Council on Research. Awards are given to two faculty members (one in Science & Engineering disciplines, and one in Arts, Humanities, & Social Science disciplines) at each career level. More info...

Distinguished Research Master Award

Since 1972, the Council on Research has presented the University-wide award of Distinguished Research Master in recognition of outstanding career accomplishments in research and scholarship. The recipient is chosen by the Council from nominees proposed from the University community. More info...

Presidential Award for Discovery

The Presidential Award for Discovery is given by the Office of Research & Economic Development to individual faculty in recognition of outstanding singular achievements in research, scholarship or creative activity that have received the highest professional recognition from their peers.
