Introduction

Louisiana State University has a strong commitment to the health and safety of all employees, students, and visitors at the institution. LSU is committed to protecting people, property, and the environment from harm due to campus operations and activities. 

Safety and Environmental considerations are an important part of our daily lives.    In order to maintain a high level of knowledge and awareness, each employee and faculty member is encouraged to review and utilize this manual.

This safety manual is the guiding document of the University Environmental, Health, and Safety Program.  Each employee, student and faculty member is responsible for adhering to the rules included herein.  Student workers are especially susceptible to accidents and environmental mistakes, and must be trained and guided by knowledgeable faculty and staff.
